There is a Late French Immersion program for students entering grade 6 in the 2024/25 school year. If your child is interested in moving into the French Immersion program, there is an upcoming information session to learn more. Below are important details about the info session and the registration process itself.

Information Session
Thursday, January 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons at École John Stubbs Memorial School.

Registration Dates and Lottery
Students who enroll in the Late French Immersion program will enter École John Stubbs Memorial School in grade 6. It is currently the only school where the Late French Immersion program is offered. Late French Immersion is considered an educational program of choice by the Board of Education. Students who register in the program are eligible to register for District Transportation.

The registration window is January 29 at 8:00 a.m. to February 2 at 11:59 p.m. Link: Late French Immersion (Grade 6) | Sooke School District (sd62.bc.ca)

If we receive more registrations than available seats, the registration will go to a lottery that follows our enrollment priorities. Please note that for École John Stubbs, the elementary and middle schools are considered separate. If you have a child in École John Stubbs Middle School (grade 6-8) or have a child who will be in the middle school the following September, enrolment priorities #2 and #4 apply. If you have a child in École John Stubbs Elementary or will have a child who will be in the elementary school the following September, enrolment priorities #2 or #4 do not apply.

We recommend attending the information session as there will be staff on-hand to answer your questions, please also consider bringing your child in case they have questions too.
